A wave of innovations is transforming our devices, browsers, and the platforms we use—changes that will inevitably reshape the way we interact with the Internet. We seek answers rather than websites, chat with agents instead of people, and create images and videos without using a camera. And who knows what else we'll witness in the coming days, months, or years? How will we change—and, in turn, how will digital marketing evolve?

I will discuss the application of quantum convolutional neural networks (QCNNs) as a novel machine learning model to guide immune cell design. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) costimulatory domains govern the phenotypic output of therapeutic T cells. Classic CNN-based model reached 70% accuracy when predicting CAR T-cell phenotype. QCNN occasionally exceeds the CNN performance. Employing larger QCNNs may further enhance performance, resulting in a superior predictive tool for CAR T cell design.

In an age where LLM and AML algorithms have become part of everyday life for everyone, it has become a categorical imperative to stay up to date with the times. Public administration is increasingly facing security risks from actors who exploit the full potential of the technologies available on the market. To implement adequate defenses and create more resilient structures, the use of these very same technologies cannot be excluded, as long as they are ethically and properly used. If leveraged correctly, these technologies can greatly accelerate the fight against most cyberattacks. The advent of quantum computing and related technologies undoubtedly adds another layer to the attack/defense dynamics, and it is essential that Italy and Europe develop structures and expertise to make ourselves as autonomous and independent as possible from other international actors.

The AI Act is an ambitious piece of legislation. It aims to ensure that AI respects European values. To achieve this goal, the AI Act is not just a regulatory framework but also an integrative one, embedding itself within the European legal system and complementing existing digital regulations such as copyright protection and data protection. Artificial intelligence systems must comply with the protection of rights at all stages of their operations: from the moment data is acquired and entered into the system, through its processing, and up to its output. Throughout this process, the AI Act sets compliance standards and references existing regulations, such as Copyright and GDPR. The key word to ensure responsible AI, in my view, is governance. Governance requires that technology remains under control.

Popular science fiction riffs off the idea that a computer-controlled robot can be conscious. In this talk I will demonstrate that either such optimism is misplaced — computation is neither necessary nor sufficient for a conscious mind — or that a vicious form of panpsychism — whereby even the smallest rock can instantiate every possible conscious experience — is true. Computational AI can certainly conjure up images of dancing pixies, but it fails to offer a scientific explanation of mind.

AI is changing the economy as it has already happened only 24 other times in the past 10 thousand years with other technologies invented by mankind that have revolutionized society, with one big difference this time: the speed of AI propagation due to the absence of the need for new infrastructure. This new economic revolution will change the logic of business models and the very concept of work leading us to have to create a new social and economic balance in a new era of so-called self-capitalism, where capital will be preponderant of new business development. The Italian situation may be calmed to some extent by certain factors such as demographics and legislation, but the forces of international competition are already changing some of the balances to which we were accustomed.

There are only 5 applications to realize ROI: large language models (LLMs) have become the foundation of AI, transforming how organizations and individuals engage with technology. This impressive range of capabilities showcases remarkable versatility across a surprisingly narrow set of everyday use cases, from optimizing business processes to sparking creative inspiration. These powerful tools have much to offer. However, they can create value for only five classes of use cases in the enterprise. In this article, we explore these five core applications of LLMs—Knowledge Management, Process Automation, Workflow Optimization, Idea Generation, Summarization, and Creative Content Generation—that illustrate the power of this paradigm shift in technology and the significant need for responsible and sustainable application.
